Hey .. I wanna install CM 12 on my Kindle fire 7 , 5 gen 2015 model with fire os 5.1.1.. So I am trying install TWRP recovery tool for it. I tried your tool as well as other options I could find on net but nothing worked. So I was wondering if you have tweaked into that and installed TWRP on fire OS 5.1.1 .. please do update the procedure to do so. Thanks – Harry
is it necessery to root amazon 5th generation tab before intalling nova launcher in it
nope
Big work, thank you!
I used your SuperTool to root my Fire 7 to prepair flashing CM 12.1. Only installing the usb-drivers was a litle tricky, i had to use the MSI-Files in the SuperTool-Package. No automatic by SuperTool to do this.
But now everything works propper! 🙂
Once 5.1.1 has been installed, any way to disable the ads without rooting it?
Does this work for the kindle fire HD6? Mine just updated itself to os 5.1.1 and now I cant use a different launcher.
hi rj & folks! i grabbed this tablet for my kiddo and the price made me brave enough to root my first device using this rj supertool. i even flashed the slimrom os using flash fire! my problem now is that the google thingies are now refusing to play nice. i keep getting the rh-01 error in the play store. i’ve uninstalled and reinstalled all of the gapps quite a few times, rebooted, deleted and re-added the google account info from the tablet, all to no avail. any help? tia!
Rootjunky,
First off, awesome work! Thanks for everything you’ve done for the fire community.
I did have one question about Google play services and editing accounts. In all the google apps, if you click on settings and accounts, the OS takes you to the fire OS account settings and not Google services. Is there a way to go direct? In my specific case I want to have two Google accounts but not share mail or hangouts between those accounts, which is possible in stock android. I cant seem to figure this out with this root. Will I need to install a custom ROM for this capability?
Thanks again!
install a custom android rom is the best fix
Everything worked fine (using Kindle Fire HDX 7) and I was able to install Play Store. However, when I open the play store it says “Error retrieving information from server. [RH-01]. I can’t download any apps from play store and I’m not sure what to do. Has anyone else had this problem because I can’t find a solution anywhere.
Awesome Tool. Worked flawlessly. Love my tab with Nova and rooted. Thank you for the tools and videos.
A quick question. Live Wallpapers do not work with Fire OS 5.1.1, can anyone tell me if they work with Slim Rom. I would like to use KLWP.. Thanks.
hello
I have a fire 5th generation with 5.1.1, did the process in your video with slim rom and all good to flash the rom cm12 was brickeo and only works the fastboot mode does not show the recovery mode and gets stuck in the logo CM12.
I’d appreciate if you could help me, not to do, thank you.
