  1. I unlocked the bootloader, ran the root tool. Phone hangs at Android splash screen. I can then do a hard reset and boot into the phone, but its not rooted. Oh, when running the tool, it boots into stock recovery. I never see a twrp screen

  2. Hi Tom,

Do you have a method to bypass FRP on these? I’ve been trying your methods for the Moto G, but with limited success. Using an exploit I waa able to access dialer, then use a service code (*#*#4636#*#) I got settings access but it wouldn’t let me activate dev options. I was however able to create a new account which let me authorize ‘install from unknown sources’ so I can Bluetooth files over from another device. I still can’t create a new Google account or use one of mine. It takes the info, then crashes Google play services.

However somehow, on the devices owner account I was somehow able to turn on Usb debugging last night, though Im not sure if that will work for the secondary account I made. If I try to switch from secondary back to primary I’m back at Frp screen

I’ll keep trying, though I have much functionality now, it’s only a $20 phone that I’ll never activate. Just a hacking project.

Btw, I’ve said before, I love your videos. Very well done, clear instructions and you have a great ‘radio voice’. They are what has inspired me to call myself

  3. Hi, Need help.
I have my moto e in bricked condition. I have downloaded the firmware and tried both flashing via rst lite and cmd modes. No success:(

In Rst, I have removed the getvar lines with Max download before flashing. But still I am getting Fail status.

Via cmd mode, am getting “erase partition failed”, “remote failure”whenever I tried to enter any fastboot cmds for gpt.bin, motoboot.IMG, logo.bin, recovery, sparse files etc., Request someone to help…

  5. Hi Rootjunky. I’m trying to bypass FRP on an XT1506 Moto E. Combining all the tips I’ve seen online I’ve managed to get deep into the device but I still cannot get past it. Factory reset is greyed out, cannot enable dev settings and switching user just brings you back to the owner profile even after force stopping setup wizard. I’ve also tried your google account manager shortcut but it comes up with an account is different or incorrect password error. Any advice or tips as to what else I can try? Is there an app/command to force on usb debugging or oem unlock? Alternatively do you know any way to downgrade the bootloader?

    • do the quick shortcut trick again and this time dont wipe data factory reset after it until you get developer options turned on and you can factory reset from settings

      • I think you misunderstood. It comes up with ‘There was a problem communicating with google servers. Try again later’ when doing the quick shortcut trick. Trying again then brings up ‘You typed an incorrect password or your account has changed. Re-type your password’. It doesn’t sign you in like your video. This device seems almost full proof but there must be a chink in the armour somewhere (Android 5.1, security patch 2016-03-01)?
