How to Enter stock android recovery

1. With the phone powered off, press the VOL DOWN KEY for 2-3 seconds then POWER key then release.

2. The device will display different BOOT OPTIONS

3. Use the VOL DOWN Key to SCROLL to Recovery and VOL UP Key to select

Tip: If the device reboots, you may have waited to long to make a selection, you will need to begin the process again.

4. The device will display the Motorola logo and then the Android in distress ( logo with Exclamation mark)

5. Press and hold the VOL UP key for 10-15 seconds. While still holding the VOL UP key tap and release the POWER key

Tip: You can try this step, holding the phone in landscape. If you are stuck on step 6, try a force reboot by pressing the Power key and Vol Down key, and start the process again.

6. The device will display additional menu options (Text will appear in BLUE)

7. Use the VOL DOWN Key to scroll to Wipe data / factory reset and the POWER Key to select this option

8. Use the VOL DOWN key again to select YES – delete all user data and press the POWER key to CONFIRM

9. Once the Formatting is complete, press the POWER key to confirm a REBOOT

10. The device will reboot and start the normal power up sequence

  1. Is it possible to root a maxx running SU6-7.7 I have been trying to flash down to SU6-7 using a batch file(because RSDLite is not working on windows 10) but it is not working. Every time, the command line says that it can send the file but not write to the phone, any advice or usefull tips?

    Is my Droid Ultra unrootable? Here are the specs:
    System version: 24.21.7.obake_verizon.Verizon.en.US
    Model Number: Droid Ultra
    Android version: 4.4.4
    Build number: SU6-7.7

    I have watched all of your videos and even tried Sunshine to no avail 🙁 If you have time could you please shoot me in the right direction?

  5. Rootjunky have a question? While trying to downgrade 4.4.4 su6/7.2 Motorola Droid Ultra xt1080 via RSD light I’m catching an “Downgraded security version update gpt_main version failed preflash validation failed for gpt” both on phone and RSD? Thanx to anyone that can answer that!

  6. Hey, can you explain it a bit your tutorial because there is new stuff put in it and I’m now confused how to root it. Also how can you like get the firmware from the device and have it and use RSD Lite to add it. Thanks
