  1. Recently broke my fibula and decided to take up phone repair as a part time hobby while I’m healing. I acquired 2 abused S5s (AT&T & Verizon) on ebay. The Verizon S5 LCD was shattered and it body frame was warped (looked like someone ran over it with their car). The AT&T S5 had a shattered LCD display (easy fix or so I thought).

I wound up replacing every almost part of the Verizon S5 (except logic board & front camera). However upon testing, the Verizon S5 will not charge (even though I replaced the USB flex charge port & midframe). All other functions are good. Any idea on what to do about the charge problem?

The AT&T S5 repair was just a simple LCD display replacement. Everything check out fine. Then one day the external speakers stopped working (after update from Kitkat). The audio jack and phone ear & mic appeared to be working. But the alarms, ringtone, speaker are silent. I have tried factory resets, safe mode, cleared cache in recovery, pulling sim, replacing the midframe (which included the speaker)… all to no avail. Have not been able to find any useful advice to resolving this issue (or a decent explanation). The other android forums were no help. Unless you consider “must be either a software or hardware issue” helpful.

If you have to ask what a midframe or usb flex charge port are then you are not qualify to provide proper diagnosis for my equipment issues. Please is there somebody out there that can provide useful feedback?

    Thanks

  4. So… I know this has been asked other places, but I haven’t seen anything to recent. But is there no solution to downgrade from BoG5 still?

  5. So I was foolish and did the NI2 OTA update on my s5 before i had root access and custom recovery. Is there any way I can get root and custom recovery now that I’m already on NI2 so that I can flash custom roms?

  7. i tried wiping dalvik and cache to see if that made a difference, but it didn’t. someone suggested uninstalling trickster mod and i did that as well. it doesn’t happen all the time, just every so often. i would say maybe once or twice a day. i really love the Rom though. There is so much you can do with it.

    Thank you,
